Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation Ivan Vasilev held a meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, H.E. Elmar Mammadov.
The two discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation in the fields of innovation and high-value-added technologies in the context of the Memorandum signed between the respective ministries of the two countries.
Other topics discussed at the meeting at the Ministry included the need to maintain a high level of cybersecurity protection for data, the strategic importance of artificial intelligence, the digitalisation of public services, and other issues.
Minister Vasilev and Ambassador Mammadov also reviewed the progress of the Kardesa project – a new large-scale telecommunications corridor running through Bulgaria and the Black Sea and continuing through Georgia, Azerbaijan, the Caspian Sea and Kazakhstan towards Central and East Asia.
Deputy Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation Mira Yosifova also attended the meeting.
