Ivan Vasilev

Ivan Vassilev has many years of expertise in the field of economics and finance, as well as in the creation and management of economic policies and technological projects.

From 2023 to September 2025, he was Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality in the "Finance and Healthcare" department, and temporarily also in "Public Construction".

For four years, Ivan Vassilev has been a member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Entrepreneurial Association BESCO and has held the position of Director of Policies and Strategies. He is a co-author of the changes in the Commercial Law related to the creation of a new type of company - a Company with variable capital, as well as of the changes stimulating the attraction of highly qualified specialists from abroad. The focus of his work is the transformation of the country's economy towards industries with high added value.

Prior to that, for five years, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the first Bulgarian decentralized autonomous organization, the Komrad Kooperativ Cooperative. Vassilev also has many years of experience in creating software products in the field of artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. He is fluent in English and uses German and Russian. He holds a Master's degree in Finance and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of National and World Economy.
